Keep reading for statistics specific to San Bernardino CACI Grievance Hearings. If you have questions about the process, find your answers on our CACI FAQ page.

San Bernardino County CFS is responsible for putting hundreds of people on the CACI each year. Only 3 other counties in all of California put more people on the CACI. Those counties are Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego. By comparison, in both 2015 and 2016, Riverside County submitted less than half the number of people to the CACI as San Bernardino did.

In 2016, DOJ records show that San Bernardino County Human Services put 529 people on the Child Abuse Central Index. In the entire year, only 2 people who had CACI Grievance Hearings in San Bernardino County were able to get their name off. That is a worse loss rate than comparable southern counties, including Riverside County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Diego County.

In 2015, San Bernardino CFS submitted 556 people to the California Department of Justice for listing on the CACI. Only 4 of the 556 were able to get their name taken off the CACI. 4 out of 556 is less than 1%. In 2014, only one person successfully convinced the County to take their name off the CACI. These statistics come directly from the Department of Justice and San Bernardino County.

The bottom line is San Bernardino County is one of the worst agencies for fighting your CACI listing. Your chances of convincing the agency to remove your name from the Child Abuse Central Index are slim if you try to do this by yourself.

If you are shopping around for lawyers and you happen to talk to another lawyer in the Inland Empire, I strongly encourage you to ask for the lawyer’s win rate. In 2016, for example, only 4 CACI grievance held in San Bernardino involved a lawyer. All 4 of them lost. That’s a 100% loss rate!
